CAB uncompressed folder.. would gauges still work

Yes.

In fact, if you have both a .cab file and a folder with the .cab contents in it, FS will read the folder before it reads the .cab file.

Over the years I have "uncabbed" many .cab files so I could edit the .xml files or tweak the .bmp files and I have rarely, if ever, "re-cabbed" the files.

I just leave the folder there with the .xml and .bmp files in it and have never had any problems.

My FSPS opens all my hundreds of cab files. Bob.

Well mine doesn't!

Been dealing with F1 ticket system for a week.

I Posted original Proof_of_Purchase_FSPS htm and Jeff Smith keeps jacking me around.

I posted that I don't remember my password, my e-mail changed years ago.

His reply:

If you don't have your proof of purchase certificate or cannot remember your old address that you used when you originally purchased the product, then please go here:

I remind him I don't know my password:

His reply:

Fill it in with a number so the form can submit.

My Reply:

What number?

I NEED A PASSWORD

Incorrect Password Submitted!

The password you submitted does not match the one on record. Please check your entry.

His Reply:

Your email address has been updated. Have a good day!

My Reply:

Thanks for e-mail update:

I enter my present e-mail and order number

and get this:

Your Order Can't Be Located!

Please make sure you are entering the correct order number and e-mail address.

His Reply:

I have updated the email once again.

My Reply:

Please do more than repeatedly up date e-mail.

Your Order Can't Be Located!

Please make sure you are entering the correct ordernumber and e-mail address.

the e-mail is now correct...F1 does not accept order number.

What version do you have? Mine is Version 1.2, Build 22767. Go to Help and you will see where to contact Ed who is the author or go to the website.

If you are a valid registered owner you should see a folder called C:\Ed Struzynski. In there the key and the setup file are located.

PM me and if you have Skype we can chat. Bob.

Hello:

Ok. Oh boy! that's good news.

My main computer is doing a deep virus scan of all drives.

Will do first thing to marrow.

Thanks for the very helpful info.

If you have V1.2 Build 22900 that' the latest version. I just updated mine to the latest version. It took all of 2 minutes following the instructions.

As I have said many times if you had Skype we could view your screen and show you ours. It's free and all you need is a headset or speakers and a mike.

Can you edit any .gau or .dll gauges? Can you view any panels at all?

Bob.

I did follow instructions WHEN F1 E-mailed the info I needed.

The last time I used FSPS was 2011 then I up-graded to a newer system.

and lost the old e-mail and password. All I wanted to do is up-date FSPS.

I knew how to use the wrapper but did not have the correct info.

Haven't tried it yet...to pooped answering posts and tickets.

I don't want any new hardware..sorry.

I'm glad I happened to open/read this thread. I don't spend a lot of time checking Ed's website, so was still stuck on the Version 1.2, Build 22767.

I noted that there's a new (to me at least) option to use an "Update Patcher" instead of having to d/l and reinstall from scratch the entire program.

That was nice! Small download and fast update to the newest V1.2 Build 22900! No "key" or "password" required.

Oh, I don't know if it has occurred to anyone else, but I've found that I can use the "FS98" slot to enter the path for Prepar3Dv2.5 and have full access to the aircraft panels on that platform.

New version reads ALL CAB's

Possible my old version had a corrupted file.

I hadn't use it in several years.
