brigs2381
I am sure this has been asked a lot but I am going to have to ask someone again.... I have watched all the tutorials online for how to add scenery to the library and I cannot get it to work... I put my scenery in my "Addon Scenery" folder in FSX, then... When in FSX, it says to go to the "add scenery", go to root directory and navigate to the addon scenery you want and click it.... then, instead of clicking "ok" (because nothing happens), you instead either right or left click in the white folder window and then the add-on box goes away, then you click "ok" in the big main blue window and it adds your scenery. This does not happen for me, I try to right or left click in the white folder window and NOTHING happens, I have tried it every different way and can't get it to add the scenery... I must be missing something... Any help is welcomed, thanks ^^ i5 4670k 3.4Ghz -- Gigabyte Z97X-SLI MB -- Windows 7 64bit 8G 1866 G.Skill Sniper -- Radeon HD5870
il88pp
In this example I explain how to add a scenery flor LEBL. To put it in, I added folder LEBL_AIG_FSX to "Addon Scenery" in LEBL_AIG_FSX are two subfolders, 'scenery' and 'texture' Then to add it to the scenery library: Start FSX. Go to settings - Scenery Library. click "Add Scenery" double click the 'Addon Scenery' folder. (so it opens) double click the folder with the scenery in it. (example, folder: LEBL_IAG_FSX ) (opens) double click the 'scenery' folder that is inside it. (opens) (there seems to be nothing in it...) At the bottom of the popup wndow, in this example, it will say: "Directory: ..Microsoft Flight Simulator X/Addon Scenry/LEBL_AIG_FSX/scenery" (with the folder name in a white text-box). click on that folder name in the white box at the bottom (so the full path is selected). click on the OK button to the right of it. At the top of the popup it says "Searching in: scenery" (with the word scenery in a white text box). click on the 'drop down' arrow to the right of the word 'scenery' A drop down box opens with the path in it. At the bottom the subfolder 'scenery' is selected in blue. click on the folder 'above' that. So in this example on LEBL_AIG_FSX In a flash you will be back in the scenery library. The new folder is there, at the top. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
brigs2381
Thanks for the reply, I get to the step--- "double click the 'scenery' folder that is inside it. (opens) (there seems to be nothing in it...) and then after that--- "At the bottom of the popup wndow, in this example, it will say: "Directory: ..Microsoft Flight Simulator X/Addon Scenry/LEBL_AIG_FSX/scenery" (with the folder name in a white text-box)." but mine does not have that, it has Directory and then the box next to it is "blank" no file path or anything and I am stuck there.... i5 4670k 3.4Ghz -- Gigabyte Z97X-SLI MB -- Windows 7 64bit 8G 1866 G.Skill Sniper -- Radeon HD5870
il88pp
Aha! That happens when inside the scenery folder is no scenery file. In my example, in the subfolder 'scenery' there are two files: AIG_LEBL_ADE_MB_Default.BGL (The airport) and AIG_LEBL_ADE_MB_Default_CVX.bgl (A 'Flatten', a CVX.bgl file that flattens the area so everything is at ground level) (not always there) If you have no file that ends with .bgl (with an airport) in the scenery subfolder you will not see anything in the white text box there. StringBean
You have to click on OK first. Then when you see the scenery subfolder, and a texture folder if there is one, that is when you click on the white space. BTW, you will never see any .bgl files listed in the Add dialog for the Scenery Library. peace, the Bean WWOD---What Would Opa Do? Farewell, my freind (sp) Never argue with idiots. ScatterbrainKid
Dunno if you've already seen this quick youtube tutorial, it's only 2 minutes long and worth a look. The trick seems to be to click in a blank area of the window pane at one point-
