Meridiana Fleet

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

I was looking at Meridiana, the Italian airline, and was wondering how I would manage the fleet differently.

This is just out of personal opinion and it is not based on specific financial information (they might not have the money to replace planes).

Current Fleet

Airbus A330-200 (1)

Airbus A320-200 (4)

Boeing 737-300 (2)

Boeing 737-700 (3)

Boeing 737-800 (8)

Boeing 767-300 (2)

Boeing 767-200 (1)

McDonnell Douglas MD-82 (9)

McDonnell Douglas MD-83 (1)

My Proposed Fleet Changes

Airbus A330-200 (1) (+4) (Orders for used aircraft. EIS 2016/2017)

Airbus A320-200 (4) (+6) (Orders for used aircraft. EIS 2017/2018)

Boeing 737-300 (2)

Boeing 737-700 (3)

Boeing 737-800 (8)

Boeing 767-300 (2) (Retire 2016-2017. Replace with used Airbus A330-200's)

Boeing 767-200 (1) (Retire 2016. Replace with used Airbus A330-200's)

McDonnell Douglas MD-82 (9) (Retire between 2017-2018. Replace with used Airbus A320's)

McDonnell Douglas MD-83 (1) (Retire 2016. Replace with used Airbus A320's)

I was wondering what you thought? I also value your opinion on the way you think their fleet should be managed.

767 ?

This company is not big enough and there is not enough request to make some intercontinental flights hence a 767 is not useful as well as A330

Substitute the 737 with an ATR 72-600 and the fleet would be more balanced and efficient.

It is my opinion so do not shoot the messenger . ;-)
