dalep29
I downloaded the free orbx NA scenery for steam version. It shows up on my scenery list but doesn't work. What should I look at in the files?

StringBean
What airport? Maybe you were outside of the demo area. It has been a while since I had the demo, does it put a shortcut to FTX Central on your Desktop? If so, this is the proper way to activate/deactivate the demo. There is more to it than what you see in the Scenery Library. peace, the Bean WWOD---What Would Opa Do? Farewell, my freind (sp) Never argue with idiots. kohanjj
Disclaimer: I don't have FSX for Steam, so something may be different, but depending on what free ORBX NA scenery you are referring to, some of the free airports do require having one of the paid ORBX add-ons installed, for objects and textures to be displayed. Good luck! Jim

mrzippy
These are the Desktop ICONS the Bean is talking about. I have the ORBX free Demo of PNW, Portland City, Bowerman and Vashon Island airports. Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer!

abrussell
The Orbx installer does not put files into Addon Scenery. The files go into the various scenery folders eg 001,002,003 etc. Bruce [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]I5-2500k@ 4.5Ghz/ 16 GB Gskill DDR3 1600/Nvidia GTX460 1GB// CH Yoke/Pedals/Throttle/TrackIR/Win7/ Fsx Deluxe SP1 & SP2 "Don't let fear or good judgment hold you back"

Moving them to Addon Scenery will break FTX Central, which will eventually cause all kinds of problems. I say "most of their files" because they also modify files such as the terrain.cfg and some autogen stuff. peace, the Bean WWOD---What Would Opa Do? Farewell, my freind (sp) Never argue with idiots. abrussell
I stand corrected. I mistook some OBX files for ORBX. OBX is PlanG.
