miloguy
Hi guys just wondering, when say Kylie Minogue or Brad Pitt comes to Australia, or even if their flying around in the US for example.. what sort of plane would they fly in? I gather it would be a business styled jet .. are there any (payware) ones that have very good long range?? ie from sydney to perth, or LA to New York ?? and I gather they would be a bit easier to handle than the 737's etc.. say something like this http://www.pcaviator.com.au/store/images/P/s550citaitonii-01.jpg thanks milo
cavalierjan19
http://www.wilcopub.com/falcon-7x-fsx-p3d-6852.html This one has got a range of nearly 6000nm! It looks nice from the sim point of view, but you need to have the latest AIRAC I think. Along with it the aircraft looks to be decent, but maybe juat a little bit overpriced. Different celebrities have different approaches -- some may come by airliner, some may charter an airliner, especially if they have a large entourage, yet others may have any of several bizjets. You'd have to check out each individual to see what they do. It's not a one size fits all kind of thing. Larry N. As Skylab would say: Remember: Aviation is NOT an exact Science! PhantomTweak
Don't forget, that's just an initial outlay... Now start adding to it things like fuel costs, airport use fees hangar use fees maintenance fees disposal fees for things like used tires (which cost big), used oil & hyd fluid, both of which also cost big, unscheduled maintenance fees avionics and equipment upgrades required by the FAA, and I can probably think of a few more if I really work at it. A close friend of my family dated Mr. Lear for a while. Helga Ausman was her name. Former Pan-Am stew, married an American pilot, John Ausman, came to America, met and married Mr. Lear after she and John broke up. Gives one an insight as to all the stuff going on behind the obvious "Kick the tires & light the fires" most people think of as flying...I was about 10 or 11 when all this went on, by the way, so all I ever knew him as was Mr. Lear. Never, until I was older by a fair amount, even thought of him as anything but, or realized just exactly who he was.
