Problem with OSP ATR 42

Recommended Posts

Good day people! Well, i've been experiencing an issue with osp_atr 42 300 model in FS2004. Its an ai model which i edited to be flyable...so the issue is that the aircraft while parked it is in a position like "taking off"....nose is fully up...why is this happening?

Well, it was the fuel tanks being too far back (ie: -39.000, where they s/b 0.100). Here are FDE edits you need. With these tweaks it flys better than some payware (hehe). I did not 'fix' the auto throttle (yet).

There are many very good flyable ATR aircraft in the library, some even including cockpits, sounds and everything else needed to fly it. Why then go through all the trouble and problems to make an AI version flyable ?

Wow, you haven't got that ATR flying yet (ie: Feb 2015=orig post date). Well, you double click the aircraft.cfg in main folder. It will open by/in NOTEPAD (do not use Word). Then you EDIT (ie: change the numbers). The 'main' problem is the gas tanks being too far back (ie: -39.000). Change the -39.000 to -0.100 (overwrite, or delete then enter number by keying numbers with top number keys). Then go 'File', then 'Save' and then 'X' out of notepad and you are done. Go try it. Not hard.

In Moments of inertia i've :

";Moments of Inertia

empty_weight_pitch_MOI= 300000

empty_weight_roll_MOI= 502000

empty_weight_yaw_MOI= 505000

empty_weight_coupled_MOI= 0.0"

I don't understand what I need to do

And what I have to do to that appears in the aircraft selection menu ? (The OSP ATR)

Thank you !

Look in the FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes folder for the folder containing the aircraft that's giving you trouble. Edit the aircraft.cfg file in that folder with Notepad. Scan down through it to the section that starts with [fuel], thus:

[fuel]

LeftAux = -29.6, 0.0, 0.5, 418, 0.0 ;Tank 1 //Longitudinal (feet), Lateral (feet), Vertical (feet), Usable(gallons), Unusable (gallons)

There will be more lines to it, that's just an example.

Napamule want's you to change the first number after the = sign.

And what I have to do to that appears in the aircraft selection menu ? (The OSP ATR)

you don't need to do anything there. it's not relevant to this discussion.

Hope that helps a little...

Had a thought...then there was the smell of something burning, and sparks, and then a big fire, and then the lights went out! I guess I better not do that again!
