Best International Airport ever for fs2004?

What is in your opinion the best international airport available up to day (detailed graphics) for fs2004?

It doesn´t matter if its freeware or payware and could be in any country of the world.

In real life as in FS, Adelaide Airport in South Australia (YPAD) is nominally an international airport, coz it does support international flights. Hong Kong, Singapore, and I think New Zealand; and at one time, South Efrica. It is quite small, with only the one runway, so most Americans and Europeans would no doubt classify it as "regional". Having said that, it is beautifull modelled in the download safs9v2.zip file. One advantage of a smaller airport is that you can concentrate on the details. And this is indeed beautifully detailed.

Hello,

@ hgschnell

Searching with

ypad_muit4.zip

in the flightsim library (filename option) give no results (cause typo :) )

Searching with Adelaide (FS2004 scenery option) give

ypad_mui.zip and also adel_v2.zip :)

So what is the best in the 3 options ???? :)

Johannesburg's O.R Tambo! That airport is so ridiculously busy! In my Fs2004, it is I believe the 2nd or 3rd busiest airport under London Heathrow and JFK. The scenery I downloaded for it, is freeware and you can find it here on flightsim.com. 3rd Page, 2nd Column is the scenery I use, and it is absolutely amazing :) https://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/fslib.php?searchid=32950359&page=3

I like the airports from FSDreamteam. Las Vegas is nice and so is KLAX. Cool thing about Las Vegas is that the Janet terminal has been added and I was worried about that since I was using freeware Las Vegas and had added the Janet terminal for my Janet secret shuttles that fly to the real life destinations according to real schedules. I have built (and still building) Area-51 and my Janet's go there. But I like my home state Denver, KDIA too. I can't remember who makes that airport, but it's pretty good and the airport is just massive. In fact the runways in Denver are as long as the Rockie Mountains are as high. Around 15,000 feet! This is due to density altitude in the summer. Need more runway for lift.

FSDreamteam has some pretty nice Hawaiian airports. I haven't used them yet, but I seen the pictures on their site. The best part about FSDreamteam is that when you buy a FS2004 airport you get the same airport for FSX free.

The Adelaide airport that I have is the one I mentioned in my post, the one included with all the other South Oz airports in safs9v2.zip. Can't speak for the other two Adelaide only ones. Does anyone recommend either or both of them? Coz I would happily try it/then if someone does [recommend them].

If I use safs9v2 I get nearly nothing but default:

With ypad_muit4.zip I get a nice airport...

Thanks for the answers.

I agree with you that airports from FSDREAMTEAM are great, incredibly detailed. They are indeed a little expensive but worth buying them, the best U.S. airports up to day.

Tushka

I sometimes fly inside Russia and despite I think there are truly great stuff for this country I recognize that Novosibirsk UNNT is the best freeware airport ever made for fs2004 and with AES support.

AidenMillar

I don´t know Johannesburg's O.R Tambo airport and if it is freeware I will give it a try. Thanks.

Despite it´s not easy, I will put some of my favourite airports, only those I have and I know to date:

Freeware:

- Philadelphia KPHL SunSkyJet

- Boston KBOS v2.1 FlyTampa

- Novosibirsk UNNT Tolmachevo Team 2012

- Vladivostok UHWW Dmitry Prock

- Sochi URSS Versus Scenery Studio

- Rostov URRR Donau Dmitry Verkhoglyad

- Milano-Malpensa LIMC ISD

Payware:

- Las Vegas KLAS FsDreamteam

- Los Angeles KLAX FsDreamteam

- Fort Lauderdale KFLL FsDreamteam

- Miami KMIA LatinVFR v2

- Moscow Sheremetyevo UUEE Drzewiecki Design

- Amsterdam EHAM Aerosoft

- Mexico city MMMX Taxi2gate v2

- Munich EDDM Aerosoft

- Dublin EIDW Aerosoft

- St. Petersburg ULLI Digital Design

I want to try Dubai Rebooted by Flytampa. The screenshots look very realistic.

OK, I'm nearly 60 years old, so am easily confused. And these comments have confused me completely. The only South Oz - including Adelaide Airport - that I have is, as previously discussed, safs9v2 . In it is this guy: ADEL2004.bgl, about 2.7MB in size. I note that that name and filesize matches the one in the file list for that download here on the site. As do all the other ADEL files in the \scenery folder.

If I rename him so he's no longer a bgl, then I get the default adelaide airport. With him back to his correct bgl name, I get a fabulous Adelaide airport, with those fantastic trees, the static Cuteass 744, the two carriers in the harbour (dunno what government allowed that to happen), the cruise ships, the corrections to the Torrens river, all in very crisp high resolution. So somewhere we have a communications error between us. I have a few screen caps but doubt that they are really going to "prove" anything.

Moving on, and inspired by the comments, I got that ypad_mui download (not mui4 - ÿour search returned no results"). Wow! That has even better trees, some cars and trucks zooming around, and even better - people !!!! That is indeed a very nice airport.

Yes but when I made the final approach to this airport I get CTD (crash to desktop). I research the problem in internet and I found the solution in drzewiecki-design forum.

CTD´s are caused due to duplicates in two bgls: LD_5712.bgl and LD_5812.bgl. When UUEE is installed, there are duplicates of this bgls in Addon Scenery\Scenery subfolder and Addon Scenery\UUEE Moscow Sheremetyevo 2015\scenery (airport installed folder). The solution is to rename both files in Addon Scenery\Scenery as follow: LD_5712.off and LD_5812.off. By this way you will stop this files working and then you have only 1 LD_5712.bgl and 1 LD_5812.bgl working and CTD´s won´t happen any more.

Hope it will help to you.

Fantastic! Many thanks, I had given up on this scenery.

Another scenery that may interest you, is FlyTampa's Athens LGAV.

A wonderfully complex bit of scenery, with multi-level crossings and a large variety of air traffic from interesting places (which you of course you have to supply!)

I found the UHWW scenery as mentioned above, and on unzipping found this folder structure:

http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h200/CHARL_photos/UHWWFolders.jpg

I've put 1. in the Addon Scenery Folder

I assume 2. is optional Winter textures

I've put 5. in the Scenery/World/Texture Folder

Can anyone cast light on what Folders 3. and especially 4. might be?

As I am 67, I am not less confused...

:D

My Adel2004.bgl has the same size in safs9v2, but it does not show anything...

(I suppose a missing library...)

ypad_mui4 is available at AVSIM, my link in post #6 works for me.

very strange...
