    Default nVidia drivers use

    Hi, everybody FS Simmers:
Somebody who can give me support to install and test nVidia drivers:

    My system is:

    Pentium IV 1.7 GHz;
    RAM 526 Mb
    PNY Verto GeForce4 Ti 4400 128 Mb.
    HDD 60 Gb
    Windows XP Professional Edition.
    MSFS2002 Professional Edition

At present I have installed driver 30.82 with not known problems.

I want to install and test drivers 31.4; 40.52 and 40.72 in order to find the best for me, but I am confused:

Some drivers come in an executable file and others in a zipped file.

I want to be sure how pass from driver 30.82 to driver 31.4 (zip file), and after to driver 40.52 (zip file) and finally to 40.72 (executable file) in a safe way. And then how to return to the best driver for my system.

Also I want to know which kind of tests you recommend to do in order to find the best of them.

I’m confused also because in nVidia web page they say that their drivers are self-installing and the user only needs to run the file, but the video card manufacturer recommend to uninstall first the installed driver and after to install the new driver.

A last question: What is Riva Tuner and where can I learn more about install and use it?

Thank you very much for your support.

after having read your entire posting very carefully I would strongly advise that you better don't change anything! The best support I could give you in this case would be: "Never change a running system!" Or even better:" If it's not broken, why should you repair it?"

You got a fine system; so if you want to fly, why don't you just fly...

    Regards,

    Michael.
