asos
Recently, I have a scenery.cfg problem. When I start FSX, I get this message: [sCENERY.CFG file error. Local scenery directory. (Addon Scenery\scenery) in scenery Area.115 not found. Click OK to continue.] I click OK and the sim starts and runs without any problems. But each time I start FSX and I get the above message. I checked my entry in the "scenery.cfg" and it reads: [Area.115] Title=Reno Local=Scenery\Cities\Reno Layer=115 Active=TRUE Required=TRUE My scenery.cfg file is at: D:\Microsoft Flight Simulator X Any help on this error will be appreciated. lohpsch
Check your Scenery Library in FSX. You should find and active Area named Reno pointing to a folder that cannot be found. If you edit that Area you will see where FSX expects to find it. It should be somewhere like \Addon Scenery\Reno and have at least a subfolder named "scenery" containing at least one *.BGL file. Hope this helps.
f16jockey_2
It should be somewhere like \Addon Scenery\Reno Of course NOT !!! It should be in \Scenery\Cities\Reno, as it is in scenery.cfg (blue text in OP). To OP: you possibly MOVED the Reno unintentionally. Happened to me already with other folders. Holding the mouse button too long, and off it goes... Do a search on Reno to recover. Wim
StringBean
Hold the bus! My scenery.cfg file is at: D:\Microsoft Flight Simulator X No it is not. Your working scenery.cfg is in C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\FSX I bet your Area.115 is Addon Scenery. There is an addon, cannot remember which one, that removes this folder when you uninstall it. Have you uninstalled any scenery recently? Either way, check the correct scenery.cfg for Area.115 and simply remove or uncheck that area in the Scenery Library. peace, the Bean WWOD---What Would Opa Do? asos
I checked the address C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\FSX. I found this entry: [Area.115] Title=Addon Scenery Local=Addon Scenery Layer=115 Active=TRUE Required=FALSE [Area.116] Title=Reno Local=Scenery\Cities\Reno Should I change the line Required=FALSE to Required=TRUE? idahosurge
This is what it should look like and like someone said, go look and make sure the Reno folder is in the correct location. It should not matter, but put a space between the last line of Addon Scenery and Reno like it is below. [Area.114] Title=Propeller Objects Local=Scenery\Props Layer=114 Active=TRUE Required=TRUE [Area.115] Title=Addon Scenery Local=Addon Scenery Layer=116 Active=TRUE Required=FALSE [Area.116] Title=Reno Local=Scenery\Cities\Reno Layer=117 Active=TRUE Required=FALSE [Area.117] Title=Istanbul Local=Scenery\Cities\Istanbul Layer=118 Active=TRUE Required=FALSE
asos
I fixed it by typing: [Area.115] Title=Addon Scenery Local=Addon Scenery Layer=115 Active=FALSE Required=FALSE in the file at C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\FSX\scenery.cfg Thank you all.
