Here's a Deal For Someone.....

I'm wondering if someone can help me.

I'm trying to figure out the Tack Pack from VRS Simulations. It can be added to the B2 from Area 51 but with a little work.

I'm horrid at that sort of thing.

Is someone willing to help me with it who has the two? I'd really appreciate it. I'd even pay pal yah 10 bucks or something for your effort. :)

Thanks again to someone who's willing to help. :)

Where did you find that little tidbit? I've been trying to figure out what it will take to add it to other existing planes.

Hours of reading garnered this:

...is that if you can't compile the model, you can't add the static weapon visual models to the aircraft. These are the weapons that appear on the aircraft BEFORE the TacPack takes over after release. Basically what you'd see would be empty wings until the weapon was fired, and only then would you see the weapons depart.

This was in reference to the SDK's Section #8 Integration Example (Deadly Cessna).

IOW, we can integrate the functionality, but, without the visual modeling of the pre-launch weapons. I've got a few TacPack Powered planes, so, I still have a lot of investigating to do vis-a-vis Bombs, Rockets, and Missiles. Specifically how to select and arm them.

When I learn how to do the rest of it, I'll be more than willing to help.

The B2 will be a great candidate. It has no visible external stores! ...Don

Thanks Don - I appreciate any help.

That's where I found the info too - the "Deadly Cessna" on the documentation.

I wish that they didn't make things so difficult all the time. It's a pain.

I'll even pay pal yah 40 bucks if you could do it man. That would be great. Do you have Area51s B2 as well? I think that would be awesome seeing a bunch of bombs dropping from her on your targets....:)

The "Deadly Cessna" example is fine for a boresighted gun, but, it offers zero insight into how to create a load manager to select what weapons to load and where.

Once loaded, how do you select an individual, or, sequence weapons, arm it/them and then pickle/fire it.

I've got a long way to go with this steep learning curve! Anyone attempting a full blown weapons system is going to probably need to make some custom gauges to accommodate all of the above functions.

Perusing Dino's F-14D and Aerosofts F-14A/B panel.cfg, Aircraft.cfg, and gauges, there are a LOT of L:Vars regarding steering to target etc.

The problem, so far, is: I can find no entries that input the data into those L:Vars.

That leads me to believe that most of the input code exists in the model.

That begs the question: Can we develop a method of targeting and weapons Selection/Arming, using custom gauges, rather than code that would be internal to the model?

Taking a break! This is giving me a headache! ...Don

Wow. Well, let me tell yah,

If you can do it for the B2, that would be awesome though. Just picture wave after wave of bombs falling out of her on target.

That is alot of work, I'm not sure yet how to arm and fire, I'm still working on that even. I know you have to arm the weapons system first, and on my F14 I know where that is, but I have to do some control mapping too for it.

I'm thinking tomorrow I'm going to have a chance to sit down with it too. If I can maybe help get the ball going, I might do the deadly Cessna thing for practice.

This one definitely seems easier than Captain Sim's Weapon for FSX though.

Seems a lot more realistic too.

Can't wait, there's tons of aircraft that have awesome potential with this add-on. I can think of Aerosoft's F16 being one of them too. That would REALLY be sweet as well.

I'm going to actually look like I have to really read the manual on this on too and do some studying. Just wish it was a one click add type of thing! :)
