unclegreg
Greetings, Is it possible to create nightmap textures for existing scenery objects? I've tried altering texture files by darkening them and highlighting windows( and renaming them xxx_lm.bmp) but nothing changes. Can it be done? Thanks in advance. unclegreg
StringBean
For an object to display a night texture it has to be coded to do so. Simply adding the texture will not force FS to use it. If you load the file containing the model into Model Converter X you can see if the materials have night textures assigned to them. peace, the Bean WWOD---What Would Opa Do? tvieno
I thought to create a light/night texture, you just add a _L to the file name, for example, a regular name fuselage.bmp, night would be fuselage_L.bmp http://my.flightmemory.com/pic/tvieno.gifhttp://www.vatsimsigs.co.uk/Status/1136602.jpg

Your example is the standard naming scheme for light maps, though they can be named anything the developer chooses. peace, the Bean WWOD---What Would Opa Do? unclegreg
Thank you, StringBean. No, there is no night texture coded in the bgl file. Of course this begs the question- can a bgl file be altered and if so what tools does one need to do so? unlegreg
