Airport Green Shape

Hi everyone. I am sure as you know that flight simulator airports are built within a green shape of grass. if you don't know what I mean, then go on aerial view above a small airport and there will be a green texture shape around/under it. I was wondering, how would you make this texture? Any help is as always appreciated.

That is called the airport background poly and how you make it depends on what sim you are using.

ADEX can make them for FSX, you need to use SBuilder for FS9.

I am using fs9 for this. I wanted to try and stay away from SBuilder if possible but if that is the only way then I suppose that would be fine. The reason being, I have never really got along with SBuilder nor got it installed at all. Will give it another go and get back to you. Do you know of a tutorial for this Airport Background Poly?

Whenever I click on the SBuilder.exe, it comes up with:

"Run-time error '339':

Component 'COMDLG32.OCX' or one of its dependencies not correctly

registered: a file is missing or invalid"

What do I do? I have unzipped it to a folder named SBuilder and have the folder called 'SCASM' in the tools folder.

I have searched and found a couple of post. They all seem beyond my understanding.

Start here- https://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/showthread.php?282736-Sbuilder-issue-COMDLG32-OCX-missing&highlight=COMDLG32.OCX

Is there any other alternative software that can make these backgrounds?

Not to my knowledge, I have always used SBuilder.

Just an idea. Would I need to install the fs9 SDK to make it work?

No.

SBuilder uses some old Active X controls (.OCX files) that do not ship with newer versions of Windows. Until you get them installed and registered with Windows SBuilder will not work.

Do you know the names of the missing files? If so could you please list them. Thanks.

Ryan

I do not remember them, SBuilder will tell you.

Once you get this one registered you will see the next one. If I remember correctly there was 3 or 4 that needed to be added.
