Steering wheel for FSX?

You can't fly with a steering wheel, you need a yoke and rudder pedals.

Rudder pedals work differently to car pedals.

A yoke has two axis whereas a steering wheel only has one.

...and i was wondering of someone could show me the best way to set it up so it is easier to fly.

To add to what Ian said, how do you control elevators with a steering wheel? How do you fly at all with one? Even if you don't want to fly with pedals (autocoordination or autorudder on), you still have to have aileron (roll axis) and elevator (pitch axis) control.

I'd suggest an inexpensive joystick, until you can decide what controls you want for the long term.

You're welcome Joe.

FYI, FSX works fine with a joystick with auto rudder turned on.

Or you can buy a joystick and rudder pedals or a joystick with a twist rudder.

Ideally for flight simming though a yoke and pedals is best, though I persevered with a simple joystick for years.
