Ragtopjohnny
Hi all - I recently had to buy a new card, and I finally got it installed today with the cables. The problem is this. My old card was an nVidia Quadro 4000. My new card is a GTX 970. I'm trying to install the new one, but with the old one dead, I couldn't uninstall the old drivers and now the new one isn't being detected. Any thoughts? Theories? I soooooooo want to do some flying with the new card. 5 days without FSX. Pwease help? http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o176/ragtopjohnny/NewSig.jpg http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-greet013.gif Checkout my new Facebook Page! https://www.facebook.com/pages/Airplane-Porn/1505438883035386 HP Z820 Workstation Intel Xeon 3.30ghz 8 Core Processor 2TB Hard Drive 16 gig of Ram 1125 Power Supply and 2 Gig Nvidia Geforce GTX 970. mistercoffee1
Have you tried booting into Safe Mode, and then uninstalling the Nvidia drivers under Programs?
wizzards
Hello there is a very good driver uninstaller on GURU3d called DDU,it automatically switches the PC to safe mode, removes all traces of the old drivers for you and restarts your PC,leaving no trace of any old driver and best of all it is free.link enclosed well worth a try peter http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html
loki
By not detected do you mean that the BIOS screen doesn't come up when booting, or that you can get into Windows but the card is not recognised? Are all of the required power cables securely into the GPU? Is it seated properly in the PCIe slot?
Ragtopjohnny
Hi loki and wizzrds..... I can't boot up even into safe mode with no display all the time from it. My card is securely placed, and the power connectors ARE securely powered. Finding out the other day, my computer does not take the 970 chipsets. I have to go even higher than that with the industrial type cards. Going to return to best buy with the "defective" line and order a Tesla from New Egg. Can't go wrong with New Egg. http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o176/ragtopjohnny/NewSig.jpg http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-greet013.gif Checkout my new Facebook Page! https://www.facebook.com/pages/Airplane-Porn/1505438883035386 HP Z820 Workstation Intel Xeon 3.30ghz 8 Core Processor 2TB Hard Drive 16 gig of Ram 1125 Power Supply and 2 Gig Nvidia Geforce GTX 970. Ragtopjohnny
well, Best Buy is awesome. Didn't even have to "lie" and say it was defective. They said I can just bring it back and it's all good to go. Ordered myself a newer Quadro K4000 this time, had just a 4000 before. More memory, 3gig instead of 2. Should do awesome. Will be here by beginning of next week, then at least back to flightsim! http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o176/ragtopjohnny/NewSig.jpg http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-greet013.gif Checkout my new Facebook Page! https://www.facebook.com/pages/Airplane-Porn/1505438883035386 HP Z820 Workstation Intel Xeon 3.30ghz 8 Core Processor 2TB Hard Drive 16 gig of Ram 1125 Power Supply and 2 Gig Nvidia Geforce GTX 970.
