AI aircraft start shooting

Hey!

I want to set up some older Sabres in aFS2004 AI Flightplan from Ottawa CYRO to Germany EDRZ ( Leapfrog 3 ).

The whole route is ready to see them coming, but they cannot start because they immediately start shooting, automatically, and I cannot stop them shooting.

Does anybody know how to stop them shooting?

Hey!

OK, I can place the air file of another Sabre Jet, or the one from the default B737.

I tried to stop the shooting by modifying some settings of the cfg-file, I like this more that to change the air-file. Already I have no more the flames coming out of the guns, but the smoke has not yet disappeared. I think I will find the right switch in the cfg-file to do so.

And last but not least....

The point is that I started with that LeapfrogIII package that I've found at Flightsim.com, and the 21 Sabres fly already the route, from CYRO all down to EDRZ. So that will be a very nice adventure to fly the whole route as well in my own Sabre...

  • 2 years later...

Hey!

I want to come back to this issue....

Several years ago I had the same problem ( see above )

Now again I have a AI aircraft that starts automatically shooting when it takes off.

The other time I remember not to have found a solution for my problem.

Maybe meanwhile somebody had a similar problem and did find a solution....

Any suggestions?

The guns were usually tied to the Strobe Light on the Sabre. Here is my entire [lights] section from my Sabre.

Thank You Mr.Zippy!

I will soon revert to my Sabres and try to fix is, because I still had no solution up to now.

You will hear from me when I will have fixed the problem.

Thanks anyway!

My new problem is however with a Lavochkin aircraft. Maybe I must seek also here what light the guns are tied here?....

Hey!

Good morning!

That is the problem! There is nothing at all in the aircraft.cfg file about "gun" nor "smoke", there is no indication at all that supposes to switch on/off the guns.....

These 2 lines:

light.11=2, 0.00, 0.00, -0.10, fx_Wing_Guns.fx,

light.12=2, 0.00, 0.00, -0.10, fx_SF86_Firepower3, // JR gun flashes

Comment out (place '//' (2 slashes) in front of line to 'de-activate')

//light.11=2, 0.00, 0.00, -0.10, fx_Wing_Guns.fx,

//light.12=2, 0.00, 0.00, -0.10, fx_SF86_Firepower3, // JR gun flashes

The '//' tells the sim to ignore that line(s) and is your 'switch'.

Hey! napamule2,

We are mixing the two cases..

Actually my problem is with the aircraft that you can download from my website http://www.jive1.be/ai_la9_fritze.zip

And this is a traffic file http://www.jive1.be/traffic.zip

In the aircraft.cfg file there is nothing at all that indicates about guns nor smoke, so I cannot change nothing!

The problem with the sabres, is in fact solved.

This is the WRONG recommendation.

It has to do with the AIRCRAFT.CFG file .

The Light Sections / STROBE Lights / are turned ON by AI.

Therefore anything other than real Strobe Lights do the effect.

I.E. light.0 = 2, 4.5, 0.52, 2.05, fx_Wing_Guns

light.1 = 2, 4.5, -0.52, 2.05, fx_Wing_Guns

If there is nohing like that in the config. Just disable all the light and see if it makes a difference. Use // at the beginning of the lines.

If that doesn't help, make sure you are looking at the right ai aircraft folder for this traffic .

I went through my ai aircraft list a few days back, and saw I had many 747 models. Way more then I expected.

Don't forget some trafficplans could be linked to user aircraft.

Hey!

I just remember, it has been derived from a older aircraft, I did it some years ago. But I did not keep the original aircraft, because the zip was too big, and I did not want to spend more space to all these aircraft that I don't need/use myself.

The ai flightplan I composed myself.

I did already what you advise: when I disable all lights nothing changed
