westway
Lately my FSX has become very slow in opening, I do all the things to maintain a speedy PC, defrag, etc.. Any ideas as to what might be the cause of this issue?
mrzippy
Loading up lots of aircraft in your selection page? Maybe time to Hangar a few of 'em. How about other PC maintenance items like disk clean, eliminating old Internet browsing files, old compressed files, things like that. Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer! westway
Actually I've done all of that too, but I do have over 480 aircraft, most are purchased add-on as well as purchased sceneries, RAAS and FTX add-ons. So do you think that's part of the problem?
pandersonpc
If you have many aircraft liveries you don't often use, track these down in the aircraft.cfg files and either comment out the panel line or change it to X or something else that doesn't exist. That way it will easy to renistate by reversing the process should you want to use one of them. I find that many addon planes have liveries I rarely use. Also, if you have a lot of addon scenery, uncheck the ones you won't be using on your next flight. This should also help on the next startup.
