New PC build for FSX, currently running at 5 (FIVE) FPS max

Will FSX run at 25+ FPS?

I would go with at least a 7200rpm hard drive. There's no point in getting a 5400RPM. Other than that, yes that should plenty to run at 30fps

 

I hadn't noticed that 1TB 7200RPM HDDs were available for the same price as the 5400 i had selected.

Running FSX natively, with the graphics sliders set at a reasonable value, it might be adequate. Running complex payware aircraft like PMDG, no way. Even high end rigs screaming at over 5 Ghz can't maintain 30 FPS in certain situations. Consult some of the hardware forums for further info. Regards
