Since getting my new pc (excellent by the way) plus windows 8.1 (which I also like.....I am very strange ) But!!! On startup i get a nag screen from something called FarmVille 2 beseeching me to to join in the agricultural fun and games! I don't WANT to join in the agricultural fun and games. I don't want virtual cows,sheep manure or Farmer Giles ...no matter how jolly and rural the scenarios may be. I just want my sim!!! W8 itself does include a lot of free games ,and it may be something to do with that. Not the most serious of PC problems ,but irritating none the less. StringBean Posted October 28, 2014 Share Posted October 28, 2014 Try this. From the Desktop, right-click on the Start button and open the Task Manager. Look on the Startup tab for the culprit. jgf Posted October 29, 2014 Share Posted October 29, 2014 Farmville is one of those Facebook games with which you can irritate your friends no end with a constant stream of "update" messages - "You have found a rock", "You have built an outhouse", etc. If this pop-up is not coming from Farcebook I suspect you've picked up some adware. My PC came with all sorts of anti virus firewalls etc. I have had no other problems only this farmville thingy.
