Whisperjet? 727?

Ha, ha - that's a good one! The model looks amazing, but I love the scarcasm with the name on the pipe.

I believe Eastern used the 'Whisperjet' designation only on the L1011s they put into service.

Default Vortec..

They did use Whisperjet on their 727's. It was not on the L-1011's only.

Here is a pic for you.

As to the 727 being sold here. Pics look great, but I will wait and see on the FPS of similar systems to mine.

And I have not been too happy with the escalation of add-on prices over the last year or so.

I'm sorry, but I don't think many will be paying $39.95 or $29.95 for one plane, especially given the 100 and 200 model differences. Yes, I realize there may be many differences. I am the type of person who is willing to pay maybe $20 for a plane, considering all the Freeware that is still available. Although for how long, who knows?

But I agree 100%, the screenshots of the cockpit are simply amazing, so maybe I will partake of this fruit once released.

Maybe we should start a poll.

Who will be the first developer to charge USD $50.00 or $49.95 or $59.95 for a one plane add on. And the diff between 100 and 200 models for $10.00, I simply don't agree with. Sorry if anyone feels offended, I am simply stating how I feel.

This is just my opinion folks, I wish them all the luck in the world, :-) I just have different expectations, and I am talking from a consumer standpoint. And from a constructive criticism standpoint. I'm not sure if there is anyone else that feels that way or not. I just recognize the trend.

I also think MSFT charged too much, so I waited and saved quite a bit there. :-)

Regards,
Joe

And yes, I realize there are many hours put in that can never be properly quantified in a release, let's just say I am dissapointed in payware in general.

My apologies to to El Camino for posting a little off topic in your thread.

LAST EDITED ON Oct-07-02 AT 01:23PM (EDT)[p]Their PRO version is $34.95, not the $39.95 I listed above. Still a bit much, IMHO.

I paid $39.95 for the PRO Version of MSFS 2002, so my standards are pretty high, and my willing price to pay is low compared to some.

I wonder if the Cockpits are different in the 4 versions vs. the standard version?

Are the flying dynamics different throughout the 4 versions?

As for pricing, it all depends on how you view flight simming. How much time and energy to you spend on it? Are you a SERIOUS hobbyist? If so, spending $30 on a plane that you really want is no different that spending the same $30 on for a one-day ski-lift ticket if that's your hobby/sport/pastime/whatever. I don't see people complaining (not that you were, of course) about spending money on beer and pizza, or movie tickets. Those items disappear, while at the end of the day, I still have my Captain Sim 727 (OMG!!).

cheers and regards,

Craig
