Thread: AFCAD Runway Question

  1. Default AFCAD Runway Question

I have just started using AFCAD and I have a question. at KPHL, I wish to use RWY 27L for all departures, and RWY 27R for all arrivals (assuming a prevailing westerly wind) With a prevailing easterly wind, I wish to use RWY 9L for departures, and RWY 9R for arrivals. Is this possible using the AFCAD program? I have read how to flag specific runways for no takeoffs and no landings, but I am unsure if it is possible to obtain what I am looking for, i.e. a different runway for arrivals and departures. FS2002 still seems to send both landing and arriving aircraft to RWY 27L and 27R is ignored. Any help out there?? Thanks

Before i start helping you, download a AFCAD 2 layer airport and see how he did it. Check here and AVSIM and PAI sites for these files. There is already a KPHL out with layers.

If you already have the AFCAD file for the airport you can change which runway is used for landing by simply looking at the text and make sure that the landing runway is longer than the other. In the game the runway would not change in appearance but the aircraft will favor that one for landing and the other for takeoff.

Yes it is possible and yes it works. Sounds like you are doing it correctly (double click a runway and change the tick boxes - REMEMBER that 27 is the reciprocal end of 9), so I assume you have a backup file of some of the AFD files that still has the .BGL extension and FS is using the backup files instead?
