Thread: FSX "fatal error occurred"

  1. #1

    Question FSX "fatal error occurred"

I have bought from long time ago, FSX Deluxe Edition. I had windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. I had tons of addons and all worked just like a charm. But suddenly it began to crash. I got the first "fatal error occurred" when i clicked on the menues in game when pressing ALT. And i restarted game up and i clicked flight and "fatal error occurred". I thought an addon corrupted the whole game, so i went to format my windows and i bought windows 8 pro 64-bit and installed it. And gues now, = The exactly same problem without addons. How can i fix this? I have downloaded the UIAutomationCore, but it doesn't help.

One thing more sv pack 1 and 2 are installed.

What can i do to fix this?. please help me

Control Panel-> Administrative Tools-> Event Viewer, select Custom Views-> Administrative Events.
One of the listed events will be for your CTD. The "Faulting Module" should point to the problem area.

    No Faulting Module? ->
Remove all of the add-ons, and test the sim. If it works OK, then reinstall them one at a time and test.
Be sure to test each thoroughly before moving on to the next

Tell us what the Faulting Module is! That will point us in the direction of the proper error, aiding in troubleshooting.

Looks like you have a graphics card problem, maybe drivers. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/925722

Just had a similar problem a few weeks ago. https://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/showt...n-flight/page2

    Recent driver update?
I've seen a few other folks getting the same failure with 13.9. If so, try rolling your video card driver back...Don

{edit}I don't have atiumdag.dll in my C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\ folder, so I did a quick search on my system for it.
    Mine resides in C:\Windows\SysWOW64
My Windows is 64 bit. Is yours 32bit? The C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\ folder on my old 32bit machine has the atiumdag.dll.
If you have a 64bit machine, it's possible you got the wrong driver...

  6. Default Fsx Crash with Menu Use

    Hello

Same as others ... FSX working fine, quite solid. Using Windows 7 64 bit, Radeon 6900 series graphics with eyefinity working good. I installed the newest driver 13.9 and now FSX crashes with menu use. I went to windows mode with some success but frame rate dropped to about 6 fpm. Would I need to reinstall the last driver? Not sure which one that would have been? Using several addons that all worked efore the new driver install

Addons: FSPassengers, Accu Feel, REX, UTX North America, GEX,

    Any suggestions

I have a 64-bit machine. And yes i have the lastest amd driver. I have a Gigabyte Radeon 7970 GHZ edition (3GB).

Have driver this driver, and yes im sure its the 64-bit one.

    http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles...etaDriver.aspx.

It could be true a GPU driver did i cant play fsx more, because how can it not work after a complete formating ?

There must be a fix, maybe some of the 3d-game settings in ccc?

Beta drivers are a work in progress mainly used for testing. Have you tried replacing this driver with an earlier finished product one such as the 13.4 version that fxsttcb uses.
