Thread: Around the World in a Mooney Bravo- UPDATE

  1. Default Around the World in a Mooney Bravo- UPDATE

    Howdy All,
The entire USA portion of the flight is in the history books! I am not ready to enter Canada and soon after make the first big leap of the flight... across the Atlantic ocean including a stop in Greenland and Iceland.

Now, for the update... (in the real world!)... I have been traveling on the road for the past 3 weeks and have just arrived back home a few days ago. I plan to get 'back in the air' soon again! I have had some catching up to do with business and otherwise, so, will be a few more days yet at least before I can get some quality time to sit down and enjoy a flight.

I also prefer to fly real time (there is now a 5 hour time difference from Arizona (where I live) and where I am current at in the RTW flight near the Maine/Canadian border. So, to make flights in daytime VFR, I need to be flying anytime from early morning to around early afternoon. That time frame will likely not be available for at least a few days yet.

I also need to download the mesh terrain's for the next several legs of my flight. I want to use terrain mesh whenever it is available. So, that will take a bit of time to search for and get downloaded into my FS2K2 pro.

So, with all this said.. I should be getting back in the air in the next week or so. Of course, I will post here when I do!

Thanks to all the great replies and responses I have had thus far in my journey. Several simpilots have even joined me and have been making the same flights. (I would guess yall are WAY ahead of me now!)

I look forward to getting back in the air shortly!

Personally, I too like to fly using realworld times, but I do correct for timezones. As you head east, it will become tougher to maintain. And when you hit the FAR east! Whoah!

After all - you're not *actually* in those time zones, so your biological clock can't really simulate that part.

Just my thoughts - not suggestions or criticisms!! Good luck on your continued flights!

    Ugh.

    Edit-
Getting a file not found msg on your trip website.
