Default Need Help With Lukla Freeware Scenery

I installed Lukla 3.0 from a few days ago in new files for FSX. It crashes immediately upon Fly Now. I now notice that when I select Lukla from the list of airports in the airport box it says "Lukla do not use this". The creator Harry Patten is unreachable through a website that won't let me register. Does anyone know about him or what would be the problem?

Nope. Best to uninstall it and never use it again.

Looking at all the files in zip (I did not try it yet) it may be that he sent us ALL (versions of) his 'trial & error' textures and bgl's files. It's 13 Mb of *.bgl's and 30 mb of textures (?). His 'version 2' Lukla was ok, and was 14 Kb (yes, Kb) of *.bgl and no texture folder. We'll find out what happened, no doubt, in due time.

I have just become aware that a bloke named "Harry Patten" has blatantly been reuploading my original Lukla work. Please be aware that the he has not legitimitely created those sceneries and all credit goes to the actual creators who put their effort into creating freeware for the community, because we love this hobby.

    Nicholas,
Well if he 're-uploaded' your work, where is the 'original' (ie: legit) files posted? At australian simulations site? And is/are these scenery files for FSX, or for FS2004? Here are the files available for Lukla. Which are yours? All of them?

    -vnlk_lukla_v2.zip 11,868 kb Feb 2013 (for FSX)
    -lukla-2.zip 11,814 kb Nov 2012 (for ???)
    -lukla_slope_v3_00.zip 26,352 kb May 2013 (for FSX)

I would hate to think that there is only one person (you) making scenery for Lukla (FSX or FS2004) which is what it sound like to me. And which is not true. And since this is he FSX forum, then any discussion should point out which sim files are made for. Not guess.

Thanks to everyone for your follow up to my original post. I didn't know I would start something more controversial. I now have not been able to get any Lukla scenery to work except the original from a few years back.

yeeep I know some idiot making scenery, he never tested before uploading, I thought he had it corrected with his second post and still crashes.

All i got was photographic scenery that was badly sloped at 45 degrees and off some distance from the default fsx airport.

Your are both right. Something is rotten in...Lukla. I tried to land a helicopter on the V3 sloped runway and slid right off. NO airplane will be able to (safely) land on it, more less stay on that sloped strip. Did not see any asphalt. I went back to V2. I did take a few pics to illustrate the messed up 'photographic' (yuk!) scenery. I don't get what he is trying to do. He should try it first.
