Default How do I disable 3P Gauge warnings?

Hi,

Couldn't find an answer to this in the search. When I select an AC with 3rd party gauges, a msgbox comes up for every gauge that loads. I have to click "Yes" to continue loading each time. Is there a way to disable these warnings and just load the darn panel?

Thanks,

Bill

Go to your Gauge folder and delete the files giving you trouble. Yes, they will not be on your panel, but is it worth it?

I guess there's no fix, then? I think it's worth it to me to keep the gauges, I have some pretty nice Lear jet panels, and I'll definitely need my instruments.

I found something in the Readme.RTF that addresses this issue, but gives no real solution:

___________________________________________________
Third party DLLs

If you are using imported aircraft or software add-ons that have not yet been tested by the author of the add-on for compatibility with Flight Simulator 2002, you may get an error message asking whether or not you would like to load a third party add-on.

If you click the Yes button, Flight Simulator loads the listed add-on. Clicking No turns it off, but only for a single session of Flight Simulator. If you select not to load the add-on, other components of the add-on (such as gauges) will no longer work. There are two ways to avoid seeing this error message every time you start a new session.

The best way to solve this is to contact the developer of the add-on (not Microsoft). The developer should post a revised DLL that will not cause this message to appear. This will also assure you that the developer has tested his add-on with Flight Simulator 2002.

If a revised DLL is not available from the add-on’s developer, you can permanently turn the DLL on or off:
1. Open the FS2002.CFG in a text editor, such as Notepad.
2. Create a new section within the FS2002.CFG file called
"["OLDMODULES"]". (**Suppose to have right and left
brackets.)
3. In this section, type the name of each DLL in question, an equal (=) symbol, and either a 1 or a 0. If you set the value to 1, the DLL will run. If you set the value to 0, the DLL will not run.

For example, if your add-on was called FsNewPlane.dll, and you wanted it to load, the section in FS2002.CFG would look like the following example.

"["OLDMODULES"]" (*R and L Bracket, can't use in HTML)
FsNewPlane.DLL=1
____________________________

Unfortunately, there are no new DLL's associated with the Gauges, so I'm not sure what to use.

Anyone?

Morning,
I hear If you type "/" In front of that gauge it will disable It. might have to go in the panel.congig file and do it. Hope this helps!

LAST EDITED ON Aug-31-02 AT 09:51AM (EDT)[p]If you look in the aircraft download after you unzip it; you'll probably see a folder called modules. You need to put the fssound.dll file that's in that modules folder into the main fs2002 modules folder. The file you're looking for is likely hidden. In other words, if you've located the modules folder, it may appear empty. It's not. Go to windows explorer in program files. Open it and select view/folder options/view and select show all files and click apply. Now go look in that modules folder and you'll see any hidden files. When you're done, go back to windows explorer and change the setting back so you don't accidentally delete a dll file later on. Also, put an additional section in the main FS2002 cfg file. Add
{OLDMODULES} using brackets followed by fssound.dll=1
You shouldn't see that error message again.
