Thread: New FSUIPC V2.89 Crashes my FS

Default New FSUIPC V2.89 Crashes my FS

Anyone having similar probs? V2.88 worked fine. V2.89 gives me a blank default start screen at Meigs and inoperative yoke and pedals. I've had to reinstall FS2K2 to clear the faults, but as soon as I put the DLL in the Modules folder the problem returns.

I've e-mailed Peter on this. Running a P4, 1.7G, with 1G RDRAM and WinXP Home Edition.

2.88 and 2.89 were both unstable on my system. Caused my yoke/pedals to act real goofy. I've gone back to 2.79, and all is well.

Simon - Thanks, yes I did.

Pete and I have exchanged e-mails and he's convinced that there is something amiss in my system. The only recent changes I've made are to upgrade to the nVidia 30.82's and to shut AGP texturing "off" to evaluate any impact in frames.

The really strange thing is that after a reinstall of FS2K2 everything works well, including inputs from my yoke and pedals. Only when I install the DLL into the Modules folder do things crump.

Unfortunately, when I downloaded the new version I overwrote V2.88 - so I can't run an obvious comparison.

    Even systems can be haunted.

Same here with the 2.89, my elevator trim went wacko, unable to set it. Went back to 2.88, have WinXPHome.

    PROBLEM IS SOLVED !!!

Thanks to your support and Outstanding response from Pete Dowson, we tracked the problem to the 30.82 nVidia drivers!

I reverted to the 29.42 and everything works fine. Strange, cause 2.88 was OK under 30.82.

    Best Regards!
