Very cool airplane...I saw one at the Beech dealership at KVNY many years ago.
There was a local company that used to base theirs at Jeffco (BJC -- now Rocky Mountain Metropolitan), so it would come over every so often. It's a weird sounding beasty, due to the unconventional propellers and the pusher location, plus being very close together. But it's neat to watch.
I've never seen one of these either but from some angles it takes some good photos. The inverted vertical stabilizer looks like a sailboat rudder to me. What purpose does that design actually have, and I wonder how much it changes the flying characteristics.
The rudder appears to provide protection for the props in case of over rotation, but otherwise I can't answer that, Dan.
It reminds me of the Piaggio Avanti (or maybe it's the other way around!) We see them (Avanti's) often at KCMA...here's one I spotted on Saturday.
