no tire marks on landing.

i found that during a landing i did with the 747-400. that there are no tire marks. is there away to enable that? cause the 747 737 and the dc 3 should have tiremarks upon touch down. and where do i find the aircraft cfg's to edit them for this?

I am pretty sure that is a function of the runway graphic and has absolutely nothing to do with the aircraft itself. It is a fixed image not a dynamic one.

It's possible to add tiremarks and smoke to aircraft in FS2004. Effect files in FS2004 should also work out in FSX. Search for: "FS2004 Special Effects For Default DC-3", (filename: dc3_fx.zip), and apply the changes to the FSX version of the Dc-3. It's worth a try! I'm using FS2004 and they work fine there.

Also, search for "Voodoo's Hangar" with Google and download his Touchdown Effects (v2.0) package. It can be applied to both AI and regular FSX aircraft. Happy good luck!

hey thanks i'll try that. but i gotta find out where the cfg's are hidden lol. i can't find them cause the file set up of FSX is not the same as it was for FS9.

Configs for each aircraft are found in the FSX/Simobjects/Airplanes/individual aircraft. I'm using the Voodoo smoke effects. Works great but I 've never looked behind me for tire marks.

Just finished a flight from Edinburgh to Leeds Bradford and this time noticed I left skidmarks in more places than just the runway! Dang those crosswinds!

lol that sounds like it was a scary landing. i had look at the cfg's for the aircraft and they do have tire marks enabled. just form some reason im not seeing them.

can you guys suggest a really good runway texture for seeing tire marks? it just don't look right seeing a 747-400 land and there are no marks after the plume of smoke. freeware prefebley
