Reduce the tyre (UK Spelling) smoke?

Most people want to increase it! I suppose the only way to reduce it is not to do such heavy landings!

    Thanks Tom
Yes I can live with your suggestion about a gentler landing to prevent the large cloud of TYRE smoke and by the way, I changed the color(or is it colour in the UK), to a more blue tint, looks much more real in my opinion

You can edit the effects file with Notepad, if you can figure out which effect it is. It should be in the EFFECTS folder.

    Hope this helps,

I think there is a smoke effects slider in the FS display options menu.

These two files can be found here at fltsim.com.
    tdcon.zip- changes the color
smtirfx.zip-reduces the amount. It says that it only reduces it for the heavies but you can try it to see if it's what you want.

    Hope this helps

Probably the simplest way is to change the touchdown=fx_tchdwn, 1 entry in the EFFECTS section of the aircraft.cfg file to touchdown=fx_tchdwn_s, 1.
