Thread: Admiral Kuznetsov for Ai Carriers in FSX

Default Admiral Kuznetsov for Ai Carriers in FSX

Would anyone be interested in an Admiral Kuznetsov with a working ski-jump ramp for use with AI Carriers in FSX? I have made one that works and am deciding whether to post it. I have found some Russian ai cruisers and destroyers that could accompany it in the various fleet formations that come standard with AI carriers. I am currently testing the model with the now freeware IRIS MiG-29K and the payware Abacus Su-33 that came with the International Fighters pack with a slightly modified panel (I added one gauge). Both Aircraft can take off successfully using just the ski-jump. Both can land but it takes a lot of practice because the flight deck is slightly shorter than the default American carriers that come with FSX. The model is currently low detail, but if enough people are interested I can make it look better if necessary.Click image for larger version.

Actually, there are ALOT of us that want Russian carriers......Thanks for your efforts and let us know when you will release.
If you can have Su33Ks parked on the deck....night flightdeck lighting and an ILS freq??? We would be very grateful.

I would love this one too! I don't need all the bells and whistles - parked aircraft, ILS, etc. That would be nice, but for now, I'd like her as she is. I've been trying to find a good ski-ramp carrier with arrestor cables. Very well done!

Hey there, count me in, I always wanted some carriers that have a ski-ramp and have a few suggestions too!!

Unfortunately the arrestor cables has been the issue. I am using Model converter x to add the cable attachpoints but it has been plagued with problems I have a newer version of the model in the works. This looks better as I was saying earlier, but what I meant was making the Mast/Superstructure look more realistic, add some LODS to prevent any frame rate impact, and maybe attach a smoke effect at the smoke stack. I agree no need for all the bells and whistles -keep it simple right? The problem half of third party fs addons out there is that they have too many details that it ends up killing frame rates.
