Default ifr checkride

Hi, I'm trying very hard to pass the IFR checkride but I always get thrown out at the same point. I make the missed approach, fly to parkk ndb without troubles. Then I fly heading 160 (as told) and intercept the radial towards SEA VOR (flyint at a 140 heading) after I pass the vor I try to fly for 1 minute before doing a parallel entry onto the 320 radial, but always get thrown out a short while after passing SEA VOR

Can anyone tell me what to do exactly?

PS: I already checked the checkrides page of matthias holzer. It wasn't helpful, the bit I'm having trouble with is hardly described in there.

Did you check the Flight Sim Veterans Tips pages at FSGateway? Click the Tips and Tricks link at the top of the page and look at flight instructions. Also try these links (obtained by searching the forum):

LAST EDITED ON Aug-14-02 AT 06:44PM (EDT)[p]Maybe you did this maybe you didn't I don't know. Be sure that you look at Mathias' flight path shown at the bottom of his guide. This helped me visualize this long and challenging checkride.

From what I remember, and it has been several months since I passed this checkride, you make a left turn towards the SEA VOR after the one minute holding pattern. I don't think that you have to pass directly over the VOR just get close to it and the instructor should clear you to Boeing Field.

    Hope this helps

Edit: If this doesn't work try extending the one minute holding pattern to 2-3 minutes. These checkrides are very buggy and the one minute pattern doesn't give you enough time to get restablished on the inbound radial.

Thanks for spreading the good news! I hope I helped.

You will have to be perfect for the commercial as there is less margin of error than for the IFR ticket...
