Thread: Should my rig run properly

  1. Default Should my rig run properly

Hello all.. New to FSX and trying to figure out if my rig is enough or if something else is going on. During a flight my screen will freeze, sometimes it will come back and sometimes I have to restart FS. My system is :
    Intel Core I5 3570k @4.0 ghz
    16gb Corsair Vengeance ram
    MSI Twin Frozr HD7850
    Intel 330 180gb ssd
    Seagate 1tb hd

    I play at 1920x1080

    Thanks, Dennis

Your system will run FSX as well as currently able on todays available hardware generally speaking. There are systems that will run FSX better (faster, overclocked CPUs), but the returns are marginal at this level. It has been my experience that noticeable FSX performance comes in 500MHz increments, meaning you will need a CPU that clocks better than 4.5GHz to "notice" the difference.

This link may help you maximize your FSX performance.
This link may also help to tweak your FSX performance.

Thanks, I will check them links out. Trying to learn all I can to get the most out of FSX.
