I'm looking forward to this one as well. I've already been dowloading FSX repaints to convert for the FS9 version.
My FSD 337 is cowering in the back of the hangar, blinking furiously...
My opinion is that it'll be just as good. I fly the FSD Seneca V and the Carenado Seneca (III?) and they both have their plus points. Although I like flying the Carenado a/c I do sometimes miss the 2D panel if I'm flying a busy IFR flight, and there's a better air of solidity (believability) about the Carenado plane - something I can't define but I just "feel". Then again I also occasionally fly the Just Flight Flying Club version - a Seneca 1 or 2, I think, which I got with the Shoreham scenery that was the real reason I bought that package.
I have several Carenado aircraft and enjoy them all. The Arrow I bought about 3 years ago (an FSX port to FS9) had the well-publicised CFG error that created bumping on the ground, but that was fixable and the a/c now works fine for me. So long as Carenado gets the port right, I have high hopes for their 337 Mixmaster.
I hear ya Matt:
I just have a funny feel'n they're trying to pull a fast one over the FS9 user's. They forget that some of us already know they started models in FS2002 & FS2004, yet they release an F33A bonanza for FS9 (port-over from the FSX release), but they already released an F33A back a few years ago (April 2004)...What's this so-called new one suppose to be? - Improved!?![]()

You can improve a lot about a model in 8 years!*
Besides, Carenado can't force us to update/upgrade. I have the older Beech and don't really feel much need right now to move on from the one I have. I tend to wait for the user screenshots to appear and for the critics to sharpen their teeth and get biting. Often enough the initial release is avoidable anyway; once it meets the users there are often a few other bugs to get shaken out, and I tend to wait for that stage to either quieten down without any major bugs found, or for it to result in a new release.
*Unless its a supermodel, in which case she's beyond hope.
It's all a matter of taste, and what you feel is important. I have the "old" v-tail Bonanza and the "new" F33 and I can tell you there's a huge upgrade in the quality vc in the "new" model. So if that matters to you the upgrade might be worth it. If they tried to sell a new version of one of their later FS9 releases like the C185 I'd probably give it a pass (they probably wouldn't anyway). I didn't have the previous F33 so there was no issue for me about replacing something I already had, but yes, based on what I see the new one is much improved.
Guys, I wasn't sure if I could post very many screenshots over here, so I posted a new thread in the Screenshot Forum this afternoon which I hope will answer the questions about whether the new Beech bonanza is any better than the older, original model. The link is here.
I can tell you myself personally, that there is NO comparison. The newer FS2004 Beech Bonanza is simply amazing, and it has to be experienced to fully appreciate every detail. Pictures are great, but actually having the experience is another whole ball-game entirely.
