Default Question About 3rd Party Support

A couple of weeks ago, a hard drive crash forced me to perform a complete reinstall of windows, flight sim, etc.
Going through the process of re-installing fs9 and all the various tweaks and add-ons is enough of a pain, however a number of (really, the majority of) my add-ons were purchased using an email address that I no longer have access to. (for what its worth, it was a comcast.net email address that i got through my fathers isp when i was in college, and my step mother deleted it not knowing it was still in use). I have been able to recover almost all of my purchases (luckily most of them were purchased through flight1, and their system allowed me to recover all my purchases without knowing all my keys and order numbers), however i have purchased a couple things from feelthere and mcphat that i have not yet been able to recover. I sent emails to them, but have heard nothing back. Admittedly, feeltheres website says
tell us your name, order number, date of purchase, your operating system and the detailed description of the problem by sending and email to our support.
Emails without the following information may be delayed or will be left unanswered
I sent an email to feelthere explaining the situation, giving my name, the old email address, etc, but it was never returned. Am I just SOL? As far as mcphat is concerned, I was able to locate the original proof of purchase, which I emailed to them, but that has been thus far unanswered as well. I have limited knowlege of the way these companies do business, so I am merely seeking advice from someone more experienced.

you need contact BMTmicro, the company that processes all feelThere purchases, with purchase information (date, creditcard, email address) -

    call 800-414-4268 (USA/Canada) / +1 910-792-9100 (international customers).

once you receive information please save in a secure location (ie, as a text file with purchased information burned to a CD/DVD ... the same as you should do with the installer). making a backup is your responsibility.

I had backups of all my information, unfortunately it was also on the hard drive that crashed. I am saving all that info elsewhere now, but that doesnt do me any good currently.

Thanks for the BMW micro info.

You kept your backups on the same drive as the originals?

    That's not a "backup", that's just a "copy".

best to have backup that is distinctly different than on your computer. i have a external HD that has an image of each of my computers (i have four computers so four external HDs). the most important data is burned to DVD. these DVDs are not in my home ... but at a friend's that lives 10 miles away.

the idea is a repetitive duplication is good in case of a HD failure, a home theft or catastrophe and does not cost me my data.

    just sayin' ...

Duly noted. I've not gone quite to the extreme you have, but I have backed important things up on a cloud server for now. I suppose burning to a DVD isn't a bad idea either.

Having said that, am I likely to get anywhere with bmt? Or am I up a creek without a paddle.

It had been a few years since Ive had to reinstall everything at once. So it never really crossed my mind. Add that to te fact that I've never lost a drive before, i didn't know any better.
