Yes I know it was FSinn, I have seen the message before, and am not sure what causes it, but usually a new install fixes it. I have it on both my Win7 and XP machines and it does it once in a while.
As far as "turn off a level of protection in Win 7 just to gain access", prior to Vista it wasnt even an option, it didnt exist. Some genius at MS decided we needed to be protected from ourselves I guess. But again, unless someone else has access to your computer, why would you be so worried that you need UAC enabled?
And I am one of those who "just wants to install stuff and fly without needing a computer science degree", and installing to a default location has never, ever, given me problems, so again, to each his own I guess.
