Chaps,

Having a nightmare with my network config at the moment - It was fine before I took my server PC away to another house, ever since I brought it back and reconnected it, there have been issues.

Basically the server (FS computer) has Windows 7 and the client (Laptop for Activesky, Squawkbox etc) has Windows XP. I've shared all the folders on the server I need to share, added port exceptions in firewalls, set up Simconnect so everything works, and as I said, was flawless a while ago. All this runs on my home wireless network.

Basically now on the client laptop, when I first start up both PCs, I can't access the files on the server PC - the client PC says I may not have permission to use the network resource and to contact admin and all that crap. That happens when I try to get into my server PC through the view workgroup computers. Then, in my network places, none of the shared folders are there. I've mapped network drives on my client PC to my appdata folder, FSX folder etc, and I can't get into any of them either. Then, all of this is magically fixed if I open internet explorer and enter the IP address of my server PC into the address bar. After a few seconds the shared folders come up, I can access the PC in the workgroup computers and the shared folders show up in my network places. But everything seems... sluggish. So much so that during flying I get very strange weather fluctuations with Activesky and Squawkbox is a total nightmare... it will disconnect every 4 or 5 minutes.

Really think it's a network issue and can't put my finger on it. Any ideas?
