FSX is CPU dependent. That is most people's bottleneck.
Quite a few of us have got better graphics cards and commented that performance is little different, though my last upgrade did allow me to use a lot more anti aliasing (which makes a big diffrence.
Something that did hurt my performance a lot was replacing my 19 inch monitor with a 22 inch widescreen. A surprise at first until I calculated that FSX was having to draw about 30% more pixels.
