Thread: Fatal Error, sigh...

  1. Angry Fatal Error, sigh...

    Hello,

I have a new computer with Windows 7 32bit, first i had Vista 32bit and everything worked fine. Now if im going to fly after 10-15min my game is freezing and i get a fatal error, i tried already to run as admin and compatibility mode ( Windows XP SP 2 or SP3) and it is still not working. Can someone please help me i want to fly

EDIT: Did i posted it in the wrong section?

    Greets,
    Chris

I have seen a lot of threads on this subject and the reigning answer is to let FSX rebuild a new FSX.cfg file. this was from another thread on this very subject Try letting FSX rebuild your FSX.cfg file. Go to AppDate/Roaming/Microsoft/FSX then rename your FSX.cfg to FSX.XXX. Then start up FSX. If you have throttles, rudders, etc say no when asked to remap your keyboard. Had this happen to me last week and this did the trick!! I hope the "repair" you've already done doesn't stop this from working as it may have already overwritten your cfg to default values.

BTW: Didn't lose anything. The only thing you may have to do is OK add-on gauges, dlls, etc when you choose add-on A/C

Do the fsx.cfg rebuild as Mr Zippy suggested then go to:http://www.venetubo.com/fsx.html
    To optimize your fsx.cfg file.

These are posts from the many, many threads about fatal errors.

Take everything I say with a grain of salt and maybe some pepper!

i first tried the second solution, i uploaded my file and i got this as result:
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You don't have a BufferPools section!, adding optimized settings.

HIGHMEMFIX was added to your config!

ALLOW_SHADER_30=1 has been added to make FSX Shader 3 compatible

Aircraft shadows removed for performance. Use Conservative to prevent this change.

Your FIBER_FRAMETIME_FRACTION was set to 0.2! If you don't like this change use Conservative mode. Your TextureMaxLoad and SWAP_WAIT_TIMEOUT values will help prevent blurries.

Adjusting TextureMaxLoad to 12 based on your hardware.

SWAP_WAIT_TIMEOUT has been added to your configuration to prevent blurries.

SmallPartRejectRadius have been added to your config for performance

Adjusting SOUND_LOD for improved performance when using AI sounds.

Removing overlay tips to avoid graphics corruption.

We suggest to try setting FPS to unlimted inside FSX, and use an EXTERNAL FPS limiter. You'll experience a massive performance increase. Download the limiter here

*** ATTENTION PLEASE READ *** the above changes were applied to the fsx.CFG file you uploaded! not the one FSX uses! so, if you want to apply this to your configuration make sure you download the tweaked fsx.CFG file suggested by the tool. (check below)

    --------------------------------------
What do i have to do? i have to download the tweaked fsx.cfg? and overwrite it on my orginal fsx.cfg?

EDIT: Do you prefer the first or the second solution (i triend now the second one)
And did you got a fatel error too and applied the first solution and it worked?
