Default Need some help with airport AFCAD assigned parking

    Hi all,

I have downloaded a third party AFCAD from another site for various airports in Taiwan. They are working well, except that they do not assign the aircraft(airline) to the correct gates.

However, interesting to note that AI aircrafts all get assigned to the correct gates. I'm always being assigned to a remote stand. I have to taxi to the remote stand first before requesting ATC for another "Taxi to Gate". Only then will I be assigned the actual gates.

I tried to open the AFCAD with ADE, however ADE doesnt recognise my FS9. Something to do with the windows registry. I've also downloaded a program (can't remember the name, but i found it while looking for solutions in this forum) to fix my registry problem. It didn't help as ADE still seem to have an issue with my registry.

So help please. Let me know if additional information is needed. The AFCAD file was downloaded a few months ago so I can't really remember where I got it from, but I'll try my best to look for the name.

    Thanks in advance!

Parking codes do not work for the user aircraft - only for AI aircraft.

For the user aircraft you need to assign a VIP parking spot with a different method - Opa's (RIP) VIP Parking Tutorial is excellent - http://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/conten...ght&fid=125498

For ADE not recognizing FS9 - use the Flight 1 Registry Repair tool - fourth item down on this page - http://www.flight1.com/view.asp?page=library

    Hi Reggie,

    thanks for your reply.

I'm not sure if parking codes really don't work as the the same airline at other third party airports will get the correct assigned gate. (as was promised by the authors of those third party afcads.)

Oh and I've already used the Flight 1 Registry Tool. It didn't work. In fact, it even caused some of my other programs to stop working, but that's another issue I'll seek help elsewhere. This registry issue happened after I did a complete reinstall of FS9 as my computer crashed previously. After reinstalling FS9, I just copied and pasted all the previous sub-folders into the reinstalled FS9 root file. (Thank goodness for backups.)

Anything I might have done wrong here?

The fact that the Flight1 program caused problems with other programs means you probably have a partially corrupt registry, and I'm not sure that much can be done about that in this forum.

And while the user aircraft may appear to get correct parking spots at some airports, rest assured that the parking codes in the AFCAD file have nothing to do with that (since they are not read by FS for the user aircraft). Too bad they didn't fix this in FSX...

Dave 'Opah' ?? has uploaded instructions on "VIP Parking" at the usual places that might help you with your user aircraft parking problems.

    Hope this helps,
