I had this idea too as the wilco airbus has an interesting 2D cockpit while the exterior model is pretty bad and not very frame-rate friendly. Usually you can copy panels over to other aircraft but in this case I cannot tell how much of the Wilco package is programmed into the model. Anyway you'll have to get rid of the Wilco 3D cockpit as this is definitely a part of the model. No problem here as there are some good internal views here in the file library.

What Airbus are you talking about? A330/340 or A320? I guess you mean the A330/340 as Posky doesn't have an A320. It'll be one of me next projects to try and put these two together. I'll let you know. Basically is is a matter of using the Posky aircraft and replacing the panel with the Wilco panel. Just see if it works. Maybe we are lucky as Wilco doesn't use any modules to make it's panel work.

    Hi again,

the Wilco / POSKY merger went well. You won't need a modified aircraft.cfg. I suppose you have both aircraft installed. Simply copy the Wilco panel over to the POSKY aircraft. That's more or less it. I suggest you also copy the Wilco sounds as they are certainly better than a default sound or anything else from the file library. The only problem might be the Wilco 3D cockpit. It will be lost in the POSKY aircraft as it is part of the model. Go for a POSKY model without virtual cockpit as their 3D cockpit will certainly not work with the 2D Wilco-panel. I used some internal views from a good freeware panel instead that I found here on flightsim.com. Works fine for me and has much better frame rates.

If there is anything you don't like about the POSKY model feel free to contact me. There are always some things in it that are weird like an over-sensitive rudder. You can cure this one easily by opening the aircraft.cfg, search for the entry [flight tuning] and change the value "rudder_effectiveness=" to 1 instead of 2.5.

The procedure worked nice for me. The aircraft kept all the Airbus-features like the restricted bank angle etc... Great! Just don't de-install the Wilco airbuses and keep the FeelThere-folder as you might need some of that stuff. Of course you can manually delete the 'old' Wilco Airbuses afterwards.

A merge don't work (fine) like that
If you specify for what type of Airbus you need a merge I'm sure that you will have some valid help ...

    Regards.

Well, who needs to change contact points? ;-) It's always a question of perfection. If you look closely at the POSKY Airbuses you will find that the main gear always has badly placed contanct points. I always wonder about the shortcomings of the POSKY flight models as they are otherwise a peace of art.

Doing a little more testing I found a few issues though. As long as you use the Wilco folder names you will even be able to use the Wilco fuel and weight tool. However the POSKY aircraft have a different weight so this part doesn't fit perfectly. It doesn't prevent you from flying fine and you can certainly do something about it if you tweak the aircraft.cfg a little.

The MCDU works fine like anything else in the panel although my aircraft went of the programmed route on one occasion and I couldn't make out why. Since I had the same issue with the all Wilco-aircraft I think it's not a problem with the merger.

The restricted bank angle (67°) works fine while the flaps and gear down restriction (33°) does not. Also the 'anti-stall-system' does work but it reacts to late as a result of the different aircraft weight. At least I guess so. It's still nothing that prevented me from enjoying my merger-aircraft.

Last issue: On one occasion the aircraft started pulling up on landing all by itself. I used hard stick forces to get it down just in time but I couldn't make out what was the problem.

I hope the merger works for you. Tell me how well you get along.
