    Question Project Airbus Installation Help

    Hi,

    I am trying to install the A321 Project Airbus base pack and a livery for FSX. I have followed the instructons t othe letter and when starting FSX, see the PA321 in the menu. When I try and select it I get the message "Failed to Startup the Flight Model".

    Any ideas on a cause?

    Hi Nick:

    Could there be a mismatch because of different engine types (e.g. CFM, IAE etc.)?

    Please check and Let us know.

    Very possible.

    How would I check this?

    Thanks for the quick reply

    Nick:

    Take a look at the following two lines of each of your [fltsim.x] entries in the aircraft.cfg file:

    sim=
    model=

    BTW, are you using the Project Airbus A321 v3 by Francois Dore e.g.

    File Name: pa321fd_v3_cfm.zip?

    I only have this cfm A321 with my aircraft.cfg entries showing as:

    sim=pa321-cfm56
    model=cfm

    Hi, simmerdr - I also have a problem with the A321 by Project Airbus. When I open FSX with the A321-231 the Master caution light is on. I checked the overhead panel and found the hydraulic electric pump was showing "fault". It did not respond to a mouse click. Also, the Flight Control buttons (3 on left and 4 on right) are showing "Off" and again won't respond to the mouse. How can I rectify this?
    All help much appreciated. KB.

    KB:

    You're right about the Master Caution light when one uses the "CNTR+E" engine-start. As you know, this A321 V3 has been customized from the base PA package. I'll look at Francois's manual, and see if it says anything about it. I've not flown it for sometime and I might have used the "cold & dark" procedure earlier. BTW, "CNTR+E" is allowed for this V3 A321 in spite of the customizations.

    KB:

    If you are starting engines by (CTRL+E), then:

    a) Keep OH panel open and [2d] panel open while pressing (CTRL+E).
    b) Wait out till N1/EGT/N2 pairs are of equal value and stable.
    c) Click off the light on the (HYD ELEC PUMP) switch. One click works.
    d) Click off the (3) lights on the LHS (FLT CTL) switches. The only light that persists on the OH panel at this point is "APU GEN OFF".
    e) Click off the [2d] Master Caution light by clicking the Upper switch. One click works.

    Hope this works for you.
