Thread: Visual C++ runtime library error

  1. Default Visual C++ runtime library error

Hi all. I gave up on MS Train Simulator because of the endless errors and crashes and I hope FS9 dosnt turn out to have the same fate. I am getting the Microsoft Visual c++ Runtime library, R6025 Pure Virtual Function Call error out of nowhere. I was climbing out of KLGB when this happened, about 20min. after starting up the sim. I had the LGB2010 scenery installed however I have flown aroud the vicinity of KLGB before many times and have not had a problem other than FPS dropping. This was the first time actually flying out of LGB since I installed the scenery. I removed it and then restarted the sim and got the same error about the same time and location. The last scenery addon I have installed before this started was Epley Field in Omaha (KOMA) a long way away from where I was. After looking at the event viewer it shows an application error involving FS9.exe and Flight.dll. Subsequent crashes do not show anything in the event viewer. Any help would definatly be appreciated. I am running Win XP SP 3, Pentium 4 @3Ghz, 3GB of RAM, and an Nvidea 256mb vid card. I am also running Radar Contact v4, TCAS using FSUIPC, and have 6 traffic files with traffic sliders set at max flying the POSKY CRJ-200. Thanks.

Try with default scenery and plane and see.
    Thanks,

Is your desk top clock (usually top right) switched on? It needs to be!

I would not hurt to check your version of FSUIPC3 (RC and your TCAS apparently) and update along with that makerwys to be used with the RC scenery update.

FSUIPC is programmed in C (RC is not) and your TCAS gauge is probably programmed in C or C++. It would be very unusual (I have never seen it) for FSUIPC to throw a C++ function call error but it does enable some items that might throw the error.

FS is programmed in C++. Have you installed the 9.1 update patch to FS9? My flight.dll and FS9.exe versions at at the 9.1 level.

Here are the update links I mentioned:
    http://forum.simflight.com/topic/661...onal-programs/ for makerwys.exe
    http://forum.simflight.com/topic/66139-updated-modules/ for FSUIPC
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downl...s.aspx?id=9727 fs 9.1 patch.

There is also a possibility of a unique ai model following a schedule that might be causing an error so turn off ai traffic for your tests.

Yes I do have the FS9.1 patch installed. I have also recently installed AI Mexico 2007 so I am wondering if maybe there is a flight causing the problem. I did modify the air files of the AI mexico aircraft to make them visible to see if they appear and they all load properly so maybe ill check the other items you suggest. Thanks.

OK so I have elimnated RCv4, TCAS, and my traffic explorer as causing the crash. I am going to eliminate each traffic file one by one but what I did notice was the aircraft count is close to 800 aircraft when I take off. The numbers are comming from traffic explorer. As Im flying out of the socal area the number of aircraft drop to 499 and as soon as it drops thats when I get the C++ error. Any ideas?

    From another forum.

Runtime errors are usually attributed to files missing/currupt. (there are a lot of other cases that a runtime error can happen...)

A fresh install will probably fix your problem. If you do not want to fresh install you can install FS9 temporarily on another computer and check to see that all the files match up. Start with the scenery folder and work your way around. If your lucky, you will find the missing file and you can just copy and paste it into the correct directory.

Also, check to make sure the file attributes correlate. If a file was modified at a different time or the size is different then chances are it is a replacement from add-ons or currupted. (Configuration files don't count)

Im not sure what version of C++ I have or what the latest version is. It is definatley a traffic problem because when traffic is turned off it stops crashing.
