    Default Core i7 with FLIGHT...

Here are the eight cores before starting FLIGHT...

...and here they are with FLIGHT running.

FLIGHT does seem to make good use of all it can get...Maybe that is why it is so smooth

But nowhere near as good as FSX. It is programmed better though (2006 vs 2012 programming)

More like 1995-1998 versus 2012. Flight was the first version built from the ground up for NT

That's odd. I was informed that Flight did not use hyperthreading. You show that it does. I guess It's going back on.

Please link where Microsoft Gaming Studios announces that Flight was built from the ground up. To my knowledge they never have.

Here is FSX loading Wilco 737PIC at KJFK. Notice all the core use (i7920, hyper-threading off). We all know, for FSX, the extra core usage is mostly texture loading. We don't know much about Flight, and Microsoft doesn't talk much so we may never know the details of the "from the ground up" re-design. It has always been my contention Flight is so smooth because it has been tweaked somewhat and has nothing in it as compared to the old title series (the world, Ground/Water/Air A.I, ATC, real weather, etc.).

Note - My FSX NY City area has many detailed scenery add-ons plus a healthy amount of AI (50% or better). It is smoother than Flight simply because you won't be flying around NYC in Flight. I would have liked to see Flight take on a detailed urban area with all the aviation fun stuff (weather/AI/airport operations/ATC). But alas I don't think that was ever "the plan".

Multithreading and hyperthreading are not the same.

First of all the world is a model, it doesn't exist entirely in memory. Second of all remove all of what you say is missing, do you still get a smooth, stutterfree experience at 60FPSin FSX? No.

The Artful dodger you are not. Answer the question/post the link. Your predictions and pontifications have so far proved dubious.

While it was definitely not "totally rebuilt from the ground up," a few major subsystems were totally gutted and recoded from scratch, such as the cloud system, the autogen trees, and a few other things...

    Seems legit.
