Thread: Is it possible to resize a VC panel?

  1. Default Is it possible to resize a VC panel?

    I would like to essentially zoom out the panel to see more of it without zooming out the scenery around me. Is this possible? I emailed Premier Aircraft design as this is one of theirs and was told "what you see is what you get." Here is a pic to see what I mean.Click image for larger version.

    This is their Q400 model. When I am in their Dash8_300 model it is not so zoomed in on.

    Thanks.

    Shift+ or Shift- will move you closer or farther away as needed. Holding Shift down allows you to move in increments.

    There is no way that I have found to zoom or change the zoom factor of the "outside" scenery separate from the VC panel. Shift+ zooms cockpit and scenery but not separate. If you find a way please let me know. Been trying for yrs!

    That moves you around the VC but it does not zoom the external view compared to the internal view. In the 2d view you can zoom the external view while the panel view remains the same.

    Okay, well, then I guess my next question is: How do I zoom both items out so I can start a flight at say 50%? I know if you save the flight it will keep the size so it must retain this info somewhere...but I can't find it anywhere! Thanks.

    Shift + and Shift -. You can also edit the aircraft's camera definition for the VC and it will always be at that zoom ratio when starting.

    Example only

    [CameraDefinition.001]
    Title =
    Guid = {8ff6c134-098d-409f-baec-caba3f683f98}
    Origin = Virtual Cockpit
    MomentumEffect = YES
    SnapPbhAdjust = Swivel
    SnapPbhReturn = False
    PanPbhAdjust = Swivel
    PanPbhReturn = False
    Track = None
    ShowAxis = YES
    AllowZoom = TRUE
    InitialZoom = .75--------------% of Zoom

    It can be done by tweaking the first value of the eyepoint, but it is rather time consuming.
