    Best to all,

    Tom:

    Thank you for that part...

In my life I have been around so many young men and women who dreamed of making a difference in this world, who did there part to see that we all had a chance to continue with the liberties and freedoms that have been taken for granted. Some of my students did not make it home, I keep there names and photos with me and honor there memory… If we as a group of individuals realize that these military aircraft and effects that are now being posted on our site represent what there really for, haven’t they taught us that this not the answer….

Go buy something else. I hear DCS is good for that sort of thing.
There is no call to insult simmers who view things differently than you do. Don't like an effect? Don't use it. Personally, I cannot see the point to the thousands of airliner repaints for 737, 747, 777, 787 and various airbuses. If you want to drive a greyhound around the skies, what difference does it make what the paint job is, it's still a truck. I much prefer war bird sims with plenty of power, speed maneuverability. Then I take them down to were I have to watch out for semi's on the highway, trees and buildings. Once in a while, I like to take pot-shots at these obstacles. Do you know how annoying it is to try to fly from Prescott, AZ to San Diego staying below 6,000 feet in an A-6 only to have a tall sagebrush ruin your flight? I know the sim doesn't really do damage to ground items, but it's rather cathartic.

My friend, Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto once said these famous words, "I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve." I have made it my mission to have a weapons configuration for as many freeware FSX military aircraft that I can, and they will also be Freeware so all can have a weapon or two, maybe three or four… FSX is for everyone to enjoy as they please, and that includes the military aspect of it…

This thread is about having fun with our sims. No more, no less. But you purposely voice an attack on our choice of fun.
Your Weapon of choice seems to be assigning derogitory "Tags" to those of us that enjoy Military re-enactment or just pretending such.
Thankfully, your words, and our screenies, are ultimately harmless...Don

BTW: If you don't think that violence and war are sometimes a necessary evil, just hide and whine when it seeks your homeland.
Sit on those passive thumbs and let someone else defend you and yours.

I hope I am considered one of the "intelligent responses" that you refer to, mallcott. You should know, then, that while I think war is an evil and hellish thing, it is unfortunately sometimes necessary, as fsxttcb says. This is usually due to people who are far worse that childish and moronic - indeed they are usually quite intelligent, but also quite selfish, power-mad, and especially evil.

And I see nothing wrong with combat flight sims; indeed, I'd like to see the next FS from Microsoft (if such a thing is ever to be), as a unified engine, as my post said.

The beauty of the MSFS series has always been the ability of the user to make it what he/she wants. If what you want isn't available (free or pay), here is an SDK, welcome to learning. This simple concept is why the MS Flight Sim series evolved a vibrant niche community.

You want weapons? Get weapons. Don't like the weapons available? Whip out the SDK, learn, and make a whole CFS type add-on for FS9/X. I won't stop you.

You want to fly the SR71 upside down at M1 down the Vegas Strip at midnight, due so (crash detection off is suggested). If you like wild pink and green paint schemes on different aircraft, have at it. Do you want to Captain a 747 "as real as it gets", guess what? You can.

The world is yours, have fun.

    Heads up!!!

Here’s what available now!!! Here’s the link:

Corrected volume control and sound wave time, but you must time your bombing run for impact to happen with-in 10 seconds of weapons release… Sound wave is timed for ten second delay before playing… In real life the nuclear flash is first, then a few seconds later, the shock wave followed by the blast wave…
