Are there any freeware weapons packages or effects for FSX?

I looked for any freeware weapons for FSX but found only 1 at CaptainSim which wasn't free! The ones claiming to be free are Torrents that are most likely to be full of malware.

I got this little beauty and duct taped it to the nose of my aircraft! I'm looking for something to shoot!

Yeap, I saw that package I might have to break down and buy some weapons for my choppers it’s bad when they stick guns and rockets on the models but don’t give you anyway to fire them…

Yeah, I hear ya! I have a P-38 Lightning that's fun to fly but no way to load and/or fire the machine guns.

feel your pain too. i have a multitude of bombers and fighters that i would love to fire or drop things from. are the Captain Sim effects for any aircraft?

A good landing is one from which you can walk away...A GREAT landing is one after which you can use the aircraft again.

The absolute best part of flight sim is that it doesn't involve mixing it with childish morons shooting things down.

Go buy something else. I hear DCS is good for that sort of thing.

I have one plane, I forgot which, when you turn on the strobe switch (default 'O'), you would see muzzle fire.

Interesting. I think the absolute best part of flight sim is that I can configure it any way I want to in order to get the most out of it for my own enjoyment, and occasionally talk about it on flightsim forums. That's just me though.

Why not just go buy Il-2 1946? You can get an sealed copy for a diver. FSX was not built for combat, whereas in Il-2 You can destroy stuff (WW2) to your hearts content, and have masses of campaigns and missons to do aswell as online servers. For modern air combat go to Lock on 2 and DCS's aims for Helis and specific aircraft sims.

This thread is getting a bit too political, I think. There's nothing childish or moronic about wanting military aircraft to be able to simulate weapons. I've always thought that flying a B-52 or B-38 without being able to actually make a bombing run is rather like buying a seaplane without being able to land on water. Mallcott ignores the fact that military aircraft are designed and built to deliver, yes, weapons. He might not like that, but insulting people who don't share his opinion is uncalled for. I see the same touchiness in train sims about train wrecks, i.e. no screenshots of wrecks allowed. Any dumb chimp could wreck a train, right? But then I remember the joyful glee on Gomez Addam's face when he wrecked his Lionels on TV, with a mini-charge of dynamite added under the train trestle! That said, it takes skill and lots of training to fly a fighter or bomber mission like the real airmen and aviators do. I enjoy flying military aircraft and I intend to check out CaptainSim's Weapons for FSX, too.
