Thread: Windows 7 x64 and FSX Direct X 10 problem

Default Windows 7 x64 and FSX Direct X 10 problem

I recently reinstalled FSX after a long layoff from using it. I enabled the directx 10 preview and I can't get some buildings to show up at night when they show up fine during the day. At dusk and dawn, they become a little transparent. Is there anyway to fix this?

See pictures below to see what I mean (directx 10 is enabled with the pictures)
Boston during the day with DirectX 10 shows all buildings

Boston during the night makes some buildings disappear with directx 10

Please note that this is the stock installation with Acceleration pack installed. No add on scenery or aircraft installed. I'm running it just as it runs when you first install it. Just wondering if anyone found a fix for this other than running fsx in directx 9.

This is a known problem when trying to use DX10 with FSX.

There is a program called addonconverterX which modifies scenery files so that they show up properly, supposedly, in FSX when using DX10.

If you can try a free demo of it, it may be what you need, but I have not used it myself.
