Default Aviation headset for pc use

I was noticing alot of pc headsets replicating real aviation headsets. For example:

I then begun to think, well what if I were to purchase a real used aviation headset?

I'd like to know if any of you have any idea on what the sound quality is like on them, sure its great for voice, but for other things like music?

for a hundred bucks you can buy a china aviation headset,

i was gona splice the mic and audio cables to standard pc audio size.

    what do you guys think?

You could probably just buy an adapter that would make it go to PC audio size at a decent electronics store. If I were doing this I would head over to Fry's Electonics here in California. Seems like a cool idea though...

Think I'd check on the impedance match first...you may need a transformer as well as a plug adapter.
