Thread: 2 throttles, 4 engines

  1. Default 2 throttles, 4 engines

    I fly FSX with a Cyborg X joystick with two throttle handles. Standardly, these control engines 1 and 2. But what to do with 4-engine-aircraft? Is there a way to control the two leftside engines together with one handle, and the two rightside engines with the other?
    Thanks in advance,

    I've been having the same problem for years using the Saitek 3 axis throttle quadrant with fs9/fsx. As far as I can tell no version of ms Flight Simulator to date will allow you to use one key/axis binding to perform more than one action in the simulator. I've found the only way to fly aircraft with more than three engines with my current setup is to use one throttle to control all engines. This is one of the reasons I only fly twins and, why I NEVER fly 747's.

    Try a Google search! I found this on another forum site.

    Yes, just assign the left throttle to engine 1, then assign the left throttle again for engine 2. Repeat for Engines 3 and 4 with the right throttle lever.Cheers,- jahman.

    In my experience this doesn't work, once you assign engines 3 and 4 that removes the axis binding to engines 1 and 2.

    After further research it looks like the only way to do what you want is to purchase the full version of FSUIPC and map your throttle levers.
    Looking through the guide it says up to 4 throttle levers.

    You could make an xml gauge like this:
    Code:
    <Gauge Name="Throttles">
    <Size X="1" Y ="1"/>

      <Element>
      <Select>
      <Value>
        (A:GENERAL ENG THROTTLE LEVER POSITION:1, percent) 163.83 * (&gt;K:KEY_THROTTLE2_SET)
        (A:GENERAL ENG THROTTLE LEVER POSITION:4, percent) 163.83 * (&gt;K:KEY_THROTTLE3_SET)
      </Value>
      </Select>
      </Element>

    </Gauge>
    Then you assign the throttle levers to throttles 1 and 4 and the gauge will then match throttles 2 and 3 to those.
