Thread: about to purchase REX for fsx

Default about to purchase REX for fsx

Why does REX cost $54.95 at FlightSim.com, and only cost 39.97 at Flightsimstore.com? Am I missing anything? I would much rather purchase it here. I know and like this site. Also, at Flightsimstore.com, the product is available for immediate download, but I see it says "boxed version" here. Any advice?

I just tried the XPlane 10 demo again, and I just can't bring myself to buy it. I wish we had a modern flight simulator that I could use straight from the box. I understand the value of addons, but I don't relish the idea of spending days installing software, and all the troubleshooting that entails. I'm not very good at it.

Perhaps you have chosen the wrong hobby then? Like any hobby, it takes refining. Sounds like you may be looking more for a game.

I did a forum search for flightsimshop.com and read through were some of the members bought REX from there and did the download but managed to lose some or all of the emailed instructions for loading. If I were buying this product from any site I would go for the boxed version so as to have the CDs and instructions. I find, sometimes, that info gets lost or corrupted in downloads.

I know it feels like "A Kick In The Fanny" but ignore the guys and their negative comments!

If you have a reliable computer and decent broadband connection, downloading REX presents no problems. Simply download and burn the files to disk along with your purchase confirmation number and key. Then install it.

If you have trouble with large downloads generally speaking, get the boxed version.

I usually don't have a problem downloading files of any size. What I do have a problem with is patience; I would much rather download it now than wait a week.

    Thanks for your help guys.

I bought REX, and I'm glad I did. I also downloaded the ORBX PNW demo, and...damn! Ordered that too, downloading now. Now I finally see why you guys all say FSX is not dead. It's expensive as all get out, but it's alive. My wife is going to filet me.

    $$$ (lights it on fire)
