Default Final Message From One of the Developers...

Thanks everyone. We were working hard on Flight right up until we were told yesterday. Thanks for your participation and help in the beta and post-launch to make Flight better.
Obviously, this sudden closure was a complete surprise to all of the in house staff!

I feel for the Flight team that was laid off. Hopefully they find employment with a truly innovative company that can use their skills in a manner more appropriate for their outstanding abilities.

Flights failure wasn't a "team" problem. Flights failure is simply the result of an arrogant, zero-clue bozo with 20 million fantasies.

Very sad Bill...I feel for all the people that put in so much work on what I feel is a great product.

I'm hoping that MS will keep to their promise of support for existing users. I would like to continue my flying in Alaska and Hawaii but each time I start the program now I think I will be worried that some dreaded notice will come up about the LIVE element no longer working. This would preclude any of us owners from using the program.

    I posted this yesterday elsewhere:-

I guess I'm a member of a pretty exclusive club...The CCC...Carbon Cub Club. I'm the founder member and at the moment I'm flying it from Sitka to Skagway...Over the mountain range behind Sitka then down into the very long fjord that runs all the way to Skagway...I'm flying at about 1000 feet and really enjoying the best scenery I've seen in Flight Simulation...I'm about halfway there now and have a VOR tuned (seven sisters SSR) and it is showing on the OBS. I've just saved the flight and will continue tomorrow. Alaska is very very big and will give me a lot of enjoyment with my Carbon Cub and my Icon amphibian, hopefully for many years to come.

It was, and thats for me the saddest thing Thats the effect of doing something, and then thinking. MS is making to many bad decisions... One day we will see the clousure of Windows, Im telling you

No the ridiculous concept is thinking the hobby is going to go anywhere now that we're down 35 engineers.

Not ridicuous. I really liked flight, and I really thought it was the start of a new era. The problem was and is MS.

Which aspect/part of the hobby is not going anywhere? If you take a look, things are actually going everywhere. No one needs 35 engineers at this time to keep the hobby going.
